Business Terms

I provide one-to-one online tuition in German, English as a Foreign Language, academic writing and study skills. Lessons run 50 minutes and are booked either individually or as a package. Current rates and availability are published on my tutoring page.

Payment is due at the time of booking. I accept credit cards, Wise and PayPal.

Lessons cancelled less than 24 hours before the scheduled start time will not be refunded or rescheduled.

I am a member of The Tutors’ Association and hold an enhanced DBS certificate. Where I work with learners under 18, lessons are booked and paid for by a parent or guardian, who is welcome to sit in at any point.

I’m also a professional writer and journalist. My services include the production of articles, books and e-books, white papers, case studies, web copy, social posts, and learning resources. I also sell rights to use my photographs, undertake graphic design work, and design marketing campaigns.

I retain copyright in my work, unless otherwise stated in my work agreements, but I’m happy to grant generous licenses to use my work, by negotiation, prior to use.

Payment of my invoices is strictly within 30 days. Payments later than this will be subject to a charge and interest in line with the Late Payment of Commercial Debts Act (1998) and subsequent regulations. These are a charge of £40 on debts of less than £999 and £70 on debts between £999 and £9,999. In addition, interest will be charged at Bank of England Base Rate plus 8%.

If you use my work without prior agreement, you will be liable to pay at double the rate that I would usually charge for use of that work.

Unless explicitly stated otherwise, I license use in my work for single use in a single medium.

I comply with GDPR for business purposes and exercise the exemption on journalistic material in respect of information gathered for the purpose of reporting.
